Bowling 2nd February 2014
Members enjoying a day at the bowls centre
On Sunday 2nd February 2014, members of Pembrokeshire Classic Car Club
met at Pemblewin Lorry park for an afternoon outing arranged by Ann & John Griffiths.
We visited the Bowling centre at Carmarthen , where members divided into 4 teams
and they bowled for an hour, there was a lot of rivalry between players on all the teams ,
the winner of Red team was John Griffiths , Yellow team winner was Steve Wimpory ,
Green team winner Cynthia Peters and the winner from the Blue team was Peter Badham.
Congratulation to all the winners who received a small token from the chairman's wife.
After an afternoon filled with laughter we made our way back to the Forge Restaurant
at St. Clears for a lovely meal.
Thanks to all who attended and to Ann & John for arranging this great day out .
This is the second outing for the club this year they also went for a run on Sunday 12th of January
when they took a 25--30 mile run around the lovely Pembrokeshire countryside before ending up at the Snooty Fox near Cross Hands for a great Sunday lunch .
This club is a very active club with 100 members at present and we try to get out at lest once a month on a run which usually includes lunch or a afternoon meal .

A CLASSIC car enthusiast and one lucky passenger are to be the first to drive across the new Llanddowror bypass which is being officially opened today (Wednesday, April 16).
Welsh Goverment transport minister Edwina Hart will open the new 9.6km section of road on the A477 between Red Roses and St Clears. It is hoped the bypass will improve travelling times and safety.
Malcolm Powell, of Pembroke, and one lucky raffle winner, will drive over the bypass in Malcolm’s old Morris 8 two-seater tourer.
The classic car, lovingly named Mrs Jones, will be 77-years-old on Thursday.
“We threw a big party for Mrs Jones on her 75th birthday,” said Malcolm. “She was given cards and presents, even petrol tokens.”
In their four and a half years together he and Mrs Jones have been to many shows and enjoyed plenty of trips across the county with Pembrokeshire Classic Car Club.
But Malcolm is filled with trepidation for Wednesday’s grand opening. “I’m a bit nervous about the car letting me down,” he said.
“She’s not temperamental, she’s a nice little car and she’s going well but you can never tell.
“You always have it in the back of your mind that everybody will be watching and waiting, and she won’t move, like a horse at the races. I’ll be excited once it’s all over.”
But life is good behind the wheel. “The children love her,” he said. “People respect old cars on the road and they enjoy looking at her. I’m enjoying it and I want them to enjoy it.”
For the last seven years, Malcolm, who also owns a Morris 1000, has organised the classic car charity evenings on Wednesday evenings at Cresswell Quay.
This year’s events, which kick off in May, will be in aid of the Paul Sartori Foundation again. And there is even more fun to be had with new events on a Sunday afternoon at The Plough Inn, Sageston.

Bob & Pats Run
On Sunday29th June 36 members of this popular car club took part in a lovely run around Pembrokeshire this had been arranged by Bob &Pat, it started from Pemblewin lorry park
then we made our way through Clunderwen , Llandissilio and onto the Honey farm at .......... where we enjoyed a comfort stop and some delicious honey based ice-cream then off we went again in the beautiful sunshine to the Museum of Childhood at Pen-ffynnon LLangeler in Carmarthen, this is the place where you can look at all the toys you played with in your childhood , it certainly bring back lots of memories , there is also a very nice café there where all the food is freshly cooked and prepared as you order it , it is also a caravan/ camping site and you can also walk around their nature trail.
we enjoyed a little lunch here then we sat in the car park and enjoyed a few hours of chatting and drinking tea/coffee.
later we continued our way onto "The Carpenters Arms" at Llechryd were we had an evening meal and very nice it was to , after this we said our goodbyes and made our way home , thanks Bob & Pat from all of us , this was a lovely day out.
