Pembrokeshire Classic Car Club 2015 Activities

First Run Of 2015

Sunday 29th March saw a great turnout of 38 members for “Maureen’s Run”

Starting from the Kilgetty Information Centre a short run followed through the villages of East Williamston, Redberth, Jefferston, & Reynalton.

Eventually we all managed to arrive at Peter & Audrey Thomas’s  wonderful collection of memorabilia ( despite your secretary’s best endeavours to get everyone lost!) This visit had been arranged by Maureen Worcester to the Thomas’s private collection near Reynalton, hopefully this will soon be open to the general public. It will be well worth a visit, as there is something to hold everyone’s attention from cars, cigarette cards, medical instruments, postcards

And so much more! Steve Wimpory (treasurer) then proposed a vote of thanks to Audrey & Peter for allowing us to visit.

Afterwards we all had a delicious Sunday lunch @ Charlies restaurant The Croft Holiday Park, Reynalton

Over lunch everyone had to put their thinking caps on to complete a quiz with a motoring theme set by Maureen. Eventually after a lot of head scratching Mike & Jean were announced the winners

The Chairman Mike Chilton then thanked Maureen for all her hard work, as we had all had a great day out.

Thanks Maureen

Drive it Day

26th April 2015

On a warm sunny 26th April, six cars assembled at Penblewin for the Drive It Day run organised by Bob & Pat Butler Yates.

These cars then travelled to Cardigan to meet up with Bob & Pat and

Tony & Cynthia Peters. After a comfort break, the increasing convoy

Proceeded to Lampeter via Newcastle Emlyn, where a coffee break was taken & we met up with Don & Lyn. We travelled on through Llandewi Brefi (didn’t see him!) to Tregaron, Devil’s Bridge and eventually arriving at the Red Kite centre outside Aberystwyth for lunch. Everyone enjoyed a pleasant afternoon watching the Red Kites feeding, (well nearly everyone, You Know Who You Are! ) and taking in the afternoon sun. After travelling into Aberystwyth , then down the coast road towards Cardigan, we stopped for a meal at the

New Inn Brynhoffnant. After having a really good meal, with a very friendly & hospitable host, we all said our goodbyes and went our separate ways.

Many thanks to Bob & Pat for organising such a brilliant day. ( P B )
